Default Re: technician salary

Well sorry I dident mean to go off there, but I did. The leagallity factor gets in there real fast for the hillbilly citys that have shade tree mechanics working on fire trucks. If the trucks haven't been repaired properly buy none certifyed mechanics the city gets it butt sued off real quick if something happens and someone gets killed. So now you notice that they want to hire ASE and EVT mechanics in the recent last 10 years so they can cover their butts leaglelly. Ya they finely have to pay better now becouse we are not monkeys with sticks beating on transmissions anymore, and have crawled up out of the premordel grease soup and have become higly trained, highly skilled technitions now, EVTs. To be a fire appratus technitions we have to be a mechanic, plumber, electrican, pipe fitter, welder, and understand complcated electronics now days. we should be payed high and held in the highest respect of any of the trades out there. Becouse every hillbilly city has to have a EVT or at least access to one.

I don't mind paying union dues knowing that my job is sucure and im getting payed right for the work im doing and can't get screwed out of my job buy some corrupt unscroupless fleet manager with no self respect with his own hidden agendas.
