Default Hale 60WP valve

Anyone find an alternate source for a replacement butterfly seat for this valve.... Since it is obsolete, you can still get a seat from Hale for the sum of 900.+...... for a little 6" x 5/16" rubber over brass seal. A bit spendy for me. I am wondering if anyone has found a source for a commercially available seat???

The Hale # is 276-0190-00

Thanks

Default Re: Hale 60WP valve

I think I'm familiar with this valve. Is it sandwiched between two flanges on the pump suction tube extension? Does it have air or electric operation? For that kind of money I would consider swaping it out with a Nibco or Crane butterfly that you can find at any industrial supply house but with the electric opener you might have to get creative on getting it to work as it should or you could get a valve with a handwheel and stick it thru the panel (and you will meet nfpa). It's hard to say without seeing what you have. You may be able to make a seat out of a piece of nylon. Check with a local machine shop on that one.
