Default Waterous Pump

Hello,
I have a Cmu Waterous Pump that is leaking while the truck is off. This is after we have pump the truck and back it in to the station. I have cleaned all cooler lines and ports on the pump. The water is coming from the back of the pump while sitting there. This is where the transmission bolts up to. If anyone knows what the problem can be email back at

ajozwiak@ci.brenham.tx.us

Thanks Andrew.

Yeah I agree this sounds like your pump packing. It may just need to be adjusted. If it leaks when its not running then it will probably leak alot when the pump is running and under pressure.

The pump could have mechanical seals with one leaking, a picture would help.

With everybody else, I agree with the pump packing is leaking.

But, don't get too excited over it. When I get a repair request for a leaking pump, I don't get excited, but do check it out. If it is parked and dripping, then I'll start the rig and put it into pump gear. If it is still "dripping", then I leave it alone. If it is pouring water out, it gets adjusted.
If it has a steady stream while sitting, or in pump gear, then I'll adjust it.

It's a water pump, so it is usually going to leak some water. Just how much and where, depends on the actions needed, and when.
